I’m a grammar geek who speaks in 140 characters and dreams in hashtags and boiler plates.
I’m a strategic communications and marketing professional with 10+ years experience across a variety of industries including food and beverage; agriculture; tourism; nonprofit; and professional sports. I’m also one of fewer-than 100 in Colorado and 5,000 worldwide to have earned my Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) from the Public Relations Society of America.
Work Experience
Currently I am the Global Director of Communications and Engagement for PIC, where I work to advance a more sustainable food system around the world.
Previously, I was the Senior Director of Communications, Issues and Reputation Management at the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA) where I oversaw issues and crisis response, reputation management and communications strategy for the national iconic brand: Beef. It’s What’s For Dinner. While there, I launched the first-ever proactive reputation management campaigns, including partnerships with influencers, New York Times, LA Times, Sports Illustrated, the National Lacrosse League, and more, garnering record engagement and reach. During my time at NCBA, my team’s work received numerous awards including more than four NAMA awards, PRSA Gold Pick Awards and PRSA Silver Anvil finalist.
Before NCBA, I spent three years as the communications director for The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Colorado. While there, I oversaw and implemented the first-ever comprehensive strategic communications and marketing plan, which included print, digital, media relations and more. I also created the institute’s first equity, diversity and inclusiveness initiatives.

I have experience with nonprofits and foundations through my time at the Boettcher Foundation. There, I was responsible for strategy and execution of communications while simultaneously boosting alumni relations and overseeing grant programs.
Prior to joining the Boettcher Foundation, I worked in Perugia, Italy at Montevibiano, the first zero-emissions vineyard. As a communications consultant, I was tasked with building a communications program from the ground up. Montevibiano was preparing to enter the U.S. market, and had never before had a cohesive marketing strategy, nor any communications in English. (In fact, I was the only employee who spoke English). During my time at Montevibiano, I developed the marketing and communications strategy, which garnered international media coverage and new distribution offers. While in Italy, I also earned a certificate in global food and wine studies.
Education
I graduated magna cum laude from the University of Denver as a Boettcher Scholar (a full-ride, merit-based scholarship), where I earned a bachelor’s degree in strategic communications and degrees in marketing and leadership. I also received a food studies certificate from the Umbra Institute in Perugia, Italy after spending four months studying the wine industry, global food sustainability and the history of Italian food.
Service & Leadership
I have served on a variety of boards and committees, including as a pro-bono consultant to nonprofits through Social Venture Partners; a member of the PRSA Colorado Board of Directors; the media relations chair for the Lupus Foundation Colorado Walk to End Lupus; the at-large director for AIA Denver; and a member of the 2015 Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation’s Impact Denver class.

Just for Fun
When I am not nerding out about communications trends or Google’s latest algorithm, I love to travel around the world and continuously explore my hometown of Denver. My favorite activities include trying new restaurants and breweries (Reckless Noodles and Copper Kettle are my current favorites), attending local foodie events and walking my Shih Tzu, Bacio (“kiss” in Italian). A creative at heart, I also love polishing my nails, baking, cooking and painting.
